Green Industry Contribution Award

The Green Industry Contribution Award honors those major corporations, developers, or municipalities that are committed to using professional, contracted services for quality interior plantscaping, landscaping, or lawn care and have helped to consistently create environmental awareness.

Established in 1986, this award has been presented to recipients that have made a real contribution to the quality of the environment and have made a major impact locally, regionally, or nationally in the way people view the green industry. This is your opportunity to honor your clients by nominating them to receive this prestigious award.

If you know of a major corporation, developer, or municipality that should be recognized by our industry, please take the time to complete the nomination form. By promoting these companies or municipalities for their contribution to the green industry, you are doing yourself, as well as the industry at large, a great service. You’ll be spreading the word about using professional, contracted services, while promoting environmental awareness. Who wouldn’t want to be known for these contributions?

ENTRY DEADLINE
All entries must be received at the PLANET office by August 3, 2012. Late or incomplete entries may not be included in the judging.

Review the Entry Procedures and Digital Image Requirements to ensure that the requirements and specifications are met.

JUDGING CRITERIA
PLANET's Awards Committee will select the recipient of this award. Work will be judged on the following:

  • Basis of craftsmanship
  • Relative contribution to the quality of the environment
  • Overall excellence
  • Special emphasis will be placed on how the corporation, developer, or municipality promotes the value of the contracted services to its employees, guests, community, and other corporations.

ELIGIBILITY
Nominations for the Green Industry Contribution Award must fulfill the following criteria, as set for the by PLANET’s Awards Committee.

  • The firm making the nomination must be a PLANET member and must be the firm contracted by the nominee for interior plantscaping, landscaping, or lawn care services.
  • Nominee must be a major corporation, developer, or municipality.
  • Site(s) submitted for consideration should be accessible to the public (i.e., the sites should not be corporate campuses limited only to the corporate employees so that the general public never has the opportunity to view the landscape).
  • Nominee must be committed to professional, contracted services for quality interior plantscaping, landscaping, or lawn care (i.e., nominee may not use totally in house operations, but rather must rely on the services of independent contractors). For municipalities to be eligible, independent interior plantscaping, landscaping, or lawn care contractors must complete a minimum of 50 percent of the work.
  • Nominee must have helped to consistently create environmental awareness in the general public as well as set an example for other corporations, developers, and municipalities to emulate.
  • Several candidates and/or prior candidates may be nominated.
