PLANET launches bilingual defensive driving tips sheet

A new bilingual (English/Spanish) Safety Tips Sheet entitled Driving Defensively to Reduce the Risk of a Motor Vehicle Crash is now available to the entire green industry on PLANET’s Web site. It follows two earlier English/Spanish tip sheets on the topics of slip and trip injuries and lifting-related injuries. This new Safety Tips Sheet includes information on anticipating potential driving hazards, being alert to such hazards, and taking other critical safe driving steps. To access these tips sheets, visit landcarenetwork.org, click on “Programs” and then “Safety Programs.” The tips sheets are in the section called “OSHA Alliance Program.”

Time to renew your certification

To keep your certification status current, you must renew every year. Continue to receive the benefits of being certified by renewing your certification today. The process is simple and quick. Just fax the completed one-page renewal form to the PLANET office at (703) 736-9668. Everyone who renews receives a "PLANET Certified" lapel pin, PLANET certificate, and a PLANET wallet card that indicates active status.

Another reason to attend Student Career Days

Attendees who sign up for the landscaping tour at Student Career Days (SCD), to be held March 23–26, 2006, at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, are in for a special treat. The tour will begin with a half-day walk around Brigham Young’s award-winning campus to see hundreds of varieties of trees and experience a landscape designed to be interactive with the students. After lunch, tour attendees will travel to Temple Square in Salt Lake City, one of Utah’s most frequently visited attractions.
