Merger update FAQs ANLA (American Nursery & Landscape Association) and PLANET are engaged in an 18-month, thorough evaluation of the benefits and disadvantages of the two organizations merging. Member and leader discussions about the merger are slated to continue in January and February at industry trade shows, Executive Forum, and ANLA’s Management Clinic. In February and March, both associations’ Boards of Directors will consider preliminary approval to merge. If adopted, additional details will be provided to association leaders and members. Watch your mailbox for safety awards applications All green industry companies are invited to participate in the Professional Landcare Network’s (PLANET) annual Safety Recognition Awards Program. Applications will be mailed in January and also will be available at landcarenetwork.org. Entries must be returned to PLANET by April 7, 2006, and require a $25 administrative entry fee. To apply … New names for PLANET committees To better represent its sector of the industry, the name of PLANET’s Maintenance Specialty Group was recently changed to Landscape Management Specialty Group. The Board of Directors also approved name changes for the Employee Recruiting Committee and the Safety/Insurance Committee. They will now be called the Industry Recruiting Committee and the Safety and Risk Management Committee.
