Merger update FAQs

ANLA (American Nursery & Landscape Association) and PLANET are engaged in an 18-month, thorough evaluation of the benefits and disadvantages of the two organizations merging. Member and leader discussions about the merger are slated to continue in January and February at industry trade shows, Executive Forum, and ANLA’s Management Clinic. In February and March, both associations’ Boards of Directors will consider preliminary approval to merge. If adopted, additional details will be provided to association leaders and members. PLANET seeks members' opinions

PLANET wants to continue to provide resources and information to help your business succeed. That's why we're seeking your opinions of our products and services. Managing to win at Executive Forum

Executive Forum offers PLANET members an event that is a true combination of business and pleasure. Stephen Covey to lead free workshop at SCD

At this year’s Student Career Days, Brigham Young University (BYU) will offer participants the opportunity to attend a free workshop presented by Dr. Stephen R. Follow the path of today’s industry experts

PLANET’s Trailblazers represent a group of dedicated PLANET members who were nominated by their peers for making significant, long-term contributions to the green industry. These individuals are committed to giving to future leaders by setting aside one day per year to provide on-site mentoring to other PLANET members, to develop and grow their businesses. Watch your mailbox for safety awards applications

All green industry companies are invited to participate in the Professional Landcare Network’s (PLANET) annual Safety Recognition Awards Program. Applications will be mailed in January and also will be available at landcarenetwork.org. Entries must be returned to PLANET by April 7, 2006, and require a $25 administrative entry fee. The program covers the period of January 1, 2005, through December 31, 2005.

Return your AEF Scholarship applications

The deadline for ALCA Educational Foundation (AEF) Scholarship applications is just around the corner. Applications are due January 20. The Foundation funds educational excellence by awarding scholarships to green industry students, who will define the standards of professionalism and use their education to meet inevitable challenges.

New names for PLANET committees

To better represent its sector of the industry, the name of PLANET’s Maintenance Specialty Group was recently changed to Landscape Management Specialty Group. The Board of Directors also approved name changes for the Employee Recruiting Committee and the Safety/Insurance Committee. They will now be called the Industry Recruiting Committee and the Safety and Risk Management Committee.
