$50,000 COMMITMENT MADE TO PLANET’S EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION

HERNDON, Va., January 4, 2008 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) is pleased to announce that long-time members Ron and Sara Damgaard of Barrington, Illinois, have added $25,000 to their initial $25,000 contribution to the PLANET Academic Excellence Foundation (PLANET AEF) scholarship fund. This places them at the Platinum contribution level of $50,000.

The PLANET AEF scholarship fund was formed to award scholarships to students who are enrolled in landscape contracting or horticulture programs at two- and four-year colleges and universities across the nation and to fund educational activities for the green industry. Promoting and advancing the lawn and landscape services industry by supporting educational excellence is the Foundation’s mission. To date Foundation assets total more than $2 million.

“I’ve been involved in the green industry for more than 55 years and have become aware that education (both formal and on-the-job training) is the future of our industry,” says Ron Damgaard of Otto Damgaard Sons, Damgaard Landscape Management, and Kaneville Tree Farms, Inc. “Since I have had financial success along the way, I feel it is time to give back by supporting the PLANET AEF.” He also emphasizes that looking to the future is critical for the industry and encourages others to help support the Foundation. “I urge everyone to get involved in PLANET AEF at whatever level they can afford.”
