NEW HOST HOTEL FOR PLANET’S 2009 LEGISLATIVE DAY ON THE HILL

HERNDON, Va., February 2, 2009 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) urges all green industry professionals to gather in Washington, D.C., July 12–14, 2009, for Legislative Day on the Hill. During this three-day event, green industry professionals have the opportunity to visit the offices of their representatives and senators to discuss issues that are vital to the future of the industry and to make sure the industry’s voice is heard on the Hill, especially with a new Congress and a new administration. This year’s Platinum Sponsors include Bayer Environmental Science and Syngenta Lawn & Garden.

The newly renovated Key Bridge Marriott at 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, Virginia, will be the center of action for the 2009 Legislative Day on the Hill. Just four miles from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and within three blocks of the D.C. Metro system, the Key Bridge Marriott gives guests easy access to some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including the Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the Pentagon, the Kennedy Center, and Georgetown. Legislative Day kicks off with the annual Renewal & Remembrance beautification project at Arlington National and Historic Congressional cemeteries. Green industry companies from across the country spend the day mulching, pruning, planting, and aerating the soil, and last year more than 400 volunteers participated.
