HERNDON, Va., March 3, 2008 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) ensures that the green industry will flourish by cultivating the personal, professional, and business growth of those who enhance the world’s landscapes. PLANET fulfills its mission by providing top-notch educational opportunities at events that are scheduled throughout the year. PLANET invites all green industry professionals to take part in the following events and to benefit from the training, networking, and resources that are essential to growing their businesses.

Student Career Days

Celebrate more than 30 years of successful Student Career Days (SCD) by joining PLANET and the event’s platinum sponsor, STIHL Inc., at North Metro Technical College. In addition to the competitive events, PLANET’s SCD offers future green industry employees the opportunity to network with potential employers and provides a forum for businesses to recruit tomorrow’s talent. Since 1977, SCD has grown to become the largest recruitment event in the industry, offering both recruiters and students a prime opportunity to further their future success.

Legislative Day on the Hill and Renewal & Remembrance at Arlington National and Historic Congressional Cemeteries

Legislative Day on the Hill provides green industry professionals with an opportunity to unite and take a stand on Capitol Hill by discussing vital industry issues with legislators. The day before the Hill visits, attendees are invited to volunteer their skills and/or equipment for the “Renewal & Remembrance” project, a national community service effort to beautify Arlington National and Historic Congressional cemeteries.

Green Industry Conference

Green industry professionals will find something to spark their interest at this
dynamic, information-packed conference and trade show. PLANET’s Green Industry Conference (GIC) features first-rate education and networking opportunities targeted specifically for green industry professionals. The GIC will be held in conjunction with the GIE+EXPO, which showcases an expansive lineup of cutting-edge exhibits and product demonstrations.
