PLANET STUDENT CAREER DAYS EVENT IS ALMOST HERE

HERNDON, Va., March 3, 2008 –– The 32nd annual PLANET Student Career Days (SCD) is quickly approaching. Considered to be the “largest recruiting event of the year,” SCD draws representatives from dozens of landscape and lawn care companies to discuss future employment opportunities with students interested in green industry careers. This year’s SCD, to be held at North Metro Technical College (NMTC) in Atlanta, Georgia, March 27–30, 2008, promises to be one of the most exciting in the history of the event. Hundreds of students from more than 50 colleges and universities across the country will participate in competitive events, network with colleagues and green industry company personnel, and interview for internships and employment possibilities.

New this year will be an industry workshop, sponsored by J. Thomas, featuring a discussion on recruiting efforts and creating successful internship programs. The discussion will be led by a panel comprised of green industry representatives, students, and educators. In addition to this workshop, there’ll be “SCD Tech” career workshops and a Career Fair. NMTC and PLANET have also arranged several social and recreational opportunities for the students, including an opening day ceremony at Atlanta’s Renaissance Waverly Hotel. This event is not to be missed by students and recruiters alike!
