Their generous support distinguishes them as a PLANET AEF Ambassador and entitles them to name and establish the criteria for their scholarship. The PLANET AEF was formed to award scholarships and fund educational activities for the green industry. Its mission is to promote and advance the lawn and landscape services industry by supporting academic excellence. Foundation contributions and, in turn, scholarships continue to grow. This year, the Foundation will award approximately $70,000 in scholarships to students attending two-year and four-year colleges and universities. These scholarships will be presented at the PLANET Student Career Days, March 27–30, 2008, at North Metro Technical College in Atlanta, Georgia. “The green industry has been so rewarding to me,” says Dennis’ Seven Dees Landscaping President David Snodgrass, CLP, “I would like to share that experience by encouraging others to choose this industry for their careers.” He continues, “I have watched the PLANET AEF fund grow to more than $2 million in a relatively short period of time. This year $70,000 in scholarships were given to exceptional students in support of their continued education in the green industry. Our industry needs top talent, and I can't think of a better way to give back then with a contribution to PLANET AEF. I enthusiastically encourage everyone to consider giving to the Foundation and, when the time is right for you, become an ambassador. It is such a great cause!" Dennis’ Seven Dees Landscaping has been a leader in the landscape industry in Portland, Oregon, for more than 50 years. It employs 300 people and has an annual revenue stream of more than $24 million. Sixty percent of the company’s sales are generated by residential design/build and commercial build services.
