NEW HOST HOTEL FOR PLANET’S LEGISLATIVE DAY AND RENEWAL & REMEMBRANCE ACTIVITIES

HERNDON, Va., May 1, 2009
— The newly renovated Key Bridge Marriott at 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, Virginia, will be the center of action for this year’s PLANET Legislative Day on the Hill and Renewal & Remembrance at Arlington National and Congressional Historic Cemeteries, July 12–14, 2009. Through these events, PLANET members have an opportunity to visit with their members of Congress, bringing their collective voices to the Hill in an effort to influence the legislative process, as well as to help beautify the grounds at Arlington National and Historic Congressional cemeteries, some of the most cherished and hallowed grounds in the United States. The registration deadline for this event is July 6, 2009.

Following the Renewal & Remembrance activities on the morning of July 13, Charlie Cook, “widely regarded as one of the nation’s keenest litmus testers on U.S. elections and political trends,” will deliver the keynote speech to kick off the briefing sessions about key industry issues. He will use his vast knowledge of American politics, memorable stories, quick wit, and meaningful insights to deliver timely information about the changing political climate. Cook is a political analyst for NBC News and has been featured on the ABC, CBS, and NBC evening news programs, as well as on Good Morning America, the Today show, Nightline, Meet the Press, and This Week. He is also a frequent guest on CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, C-SPAN, and National Public Radio.

The Key Bridge Marriott, located just four miles from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and within three blocks of the D.C. Metro system, gives guests easy access to some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including the Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the Pentagon, the Kennedy Center, and Georgetown. Hotel reservations can be made by calling (703) 524-6400 on or before June 19, 2009, and asking for the PLANET rate or by going online to Marriott.
