PLANET LAUNCHES NEW EDUCATOR MENTORING PROGRAM

HERNDON, Va., September 5, 2008 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) is pleased to provide a new mentoring initiative that will give PLANET faculty members the opportunity to share best practices. Paralleling PLANET’s landscape and lawn care Trailblazers, Educator Trailblazers set aside a full day each year to provide on-site mentoring to another PLANET green industry educator. This in-depth, personalized networking and mentoring program is a unique way for educational institutions with more established horticultural programs to offer insight and advice to educational institutions that are developing and growing their horticulture programs.

PLANET’s Educator Trailblazers are a group of dedicated educators who were nominated by their peers for their significant and long-term contributions to the green industry. Direct influencers in the green industry, these individuals are committed to helping their peers grow their horticulture programs, as well as helping the green industry grow. The Educator Trailblazers will be recognized during PLANET’s Green Industry Conference, October 22–25, 2008, in Louisville, Kentucky.
