PLANET ANNOUNCES STATE ASSOCIATION PARTNER AWARDS

Herndon, Va, November 15, 2006 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) has announced its State Association Partner of the Year Awards. The awards were presented by PLANET President John E. Gibson, CLT, at the recent Green Industry Conference awards banquet in Columbus, Ohio.

The Association Executive Partner of the Year Award honors an individual PLANET member state/regional association executive for his or her contributions to the green industry within his/her own state or region and nationally as a member of PLANET. Additionally, the recipient typically has made an exemplary effort within his or her state to promote professionalism within the green industry. This year’s recipient, Barbara Scheibe, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association, has worked tirelessly on behalf of PLANET and the green industry over the past year.

Scheibe remains involved in the association’s events and promotes PLANET consistently, and has been vocal in encouraging state members to participate in certification, education, and other green industry events. Additionally, she was instrumental in bringing the Certified Landscape Technician program to her state, and promotes PLANET’s other certification designations as well. She has been called the glue that keeps the association’s Wisconsin volunteers together, and she always looks at every issue to determine “how will this help our members?”

The State Association Partner of the Year Award honors a PLANET member state/regional association for its contributions to the green industry within its own state or region and nationally as a member of PLANET. The Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association is this year’s recipient of the 2006 Association Partner of the Year Award, for supporting Scheibe’s continued, diligent, and loyal efforts to support PLANET and the well-being of all industry practitioners.
