PLANET HONORS ASSOCIATION PARTNER OF THE YEAR

HERNDON, Va., November 5, 2007 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) is pleased to announce that the Ohio Landscape Association (OLA) is the recipient of PLANET’s 2007 State Association Partner of the Year Award. The award was presented by PLANET Vice President Jason Cupp, CLP, at its recent Green Industry Conference Awards Banquet in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Association Partner of the Year Award honors PLANET state or regional association members for their significant contributions to the green industry within their states and regions, and nationally as members of PLANET.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Sandy Munley, OLA is an avid supporter of PLANET’s Legislative Day on the Hill and the H-2B legislation effort. Its active involvement and guidance in the development of the H-2B toolkit has been an example for all to model. It also has brought together all facets of the H-2B program within its state to give a united picture to elected officials. Its efforts are an example to others within the H-2B user community of what can be done with imagination and determination.

OLA has exhibited the kind of partnering and leadership that exemplifies the reason and spirit of the award, and has made a significant impact in Ohio and nationally.

"It is a huge honor to be recognized,” says Munley. “The OLA Board of Directors feels that it is very important to secure means for our industry to have a legal workforce. We are glad to share strategies and to help motivate others, and enjoy partnering with PLANET." She adds, "The real credit goes to our committee chair, Mary Wheeler of Wheeler Landscaping, Inc., and the others on our legislative committee. They have worked tirelessly."
