PLANET ANNOUNCES STATE ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE PARTNER OF THE YEAR AWARD

HERNDON, Va., November 5, 2007 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) honored Diane Andrews, executive director of the Michigan Green Industry Association (MGIA), with its 2007 State Association Executive Partner of the Year Award. The award was presented by PLANET Vice President Jason Cupp, CLP, at the recent Green Industry Conference Awards Banquet in Louisville, Kentucky.

The State Association Executive Partner of the Year Award honors PLANET member state/regional association executives for their significant contributions to the green industry within their own state or region and nationally as a member of PLANET. In addition, the recipient typically has made an exemplary effort to promote professionalism within the green industry.

Involved in the green industry for the past 19 years, Andrews is a strong partner in PLANET’s certification and safety initiatives and has worked tirelessly on behalf of MGIA, PLANET, and the green industry. She always looks for ways for PLANET and MGIA to work together to further the best interests of the green industry, most recently hosting a PLANET Town Hall Meeting earlier this year.

“I am truly honored to receive this prestigious award,” says Andrews. “I consider PLANET to be a partner and one of our best investments in the success of our industry across the nation. I am proud to work for the members of the Michigan Green Industry Association along with our Board of Directors and staff.” She adds, “This is a wonderful industry to be a part of, and I join PLANET President Jim Martin, CLP, in challenging anyone to find another industry, besides the medical and educational professions, that add to the quality of life on this earth more than the green industry."

MGIA provides valuable industry resources through its Student Career Day, Job Fair, Trade Show, Awards Program, Scholarship Golf Outing, Snow Expo, and educational classes. It also is an affiliate of the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Under Andrew’s leadership, MGIA is leaving a positive legacy for the green industry.
