PLANET ANNOUNCES OVERALL SAFETY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNERS

HERNDON, Va., November 3, 2008 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) is pleased to announce its Overall Safety Achievement Award winners for 2007. The awards were presented at the recent PLANET Green Industry Conference Awards Banquet, October 25, 2008, in Louisville, Kentucky. They are part of PLANET’s annual Safety Recognition Awards Program that honors companies with thorough, high-performing safety programs.

PLANET’s annual Safety Recognition Awards Program, sponsored by CNA, reflects the dedication of these green industry organizations to creating and maintaining safe work environments. The program is designed to recognize and reward green industry professionals who continue to improve safe practices throughout the industry. All landscape and lawn care professionals are invited to participate in the program.

Criteria for the Overall Safety Achievement Awards includes evaluation of a company’s combined fleet and employee incident rates, as well as a checklist to rate the company’s complete safety program. Three levels of awards — gold, silver, and bronze — were given based on performance.
