PLANET RECOGNIZES 2008 PARTNER IN SUCCESS

HERNDON, Va., November 3, 2008 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) is pleased to announce that Husqvarna is the recipient of PLANET’s 2008 Partner in Success Award. The award was presented to Husqvarna’s Director of Marketing John Marchionda during PLANET’s 2008 Green Industry Conference Awards Banquet in Louisville, Kentucky.

Husqvarna was honored for its strong commitment to the green industry and to PLANET. PLANET’s members, volunteer leadership, partners, affiliates, and staff work together during the year to provide educational opportunities, events, products, and services that aid the association’s members and advance the industry. All of these opportunities would not be possible without significant leadership and support from our sponsors, and Husqvarna went above and beyond during the past year.

For more than 300 years, Husqvarna has been dedicated to developing technical expertise and creating quality products. Husqvarna serves the lawn, garden, forestry, and construction industries and is known best for its high-performance, professional products, including chainsaws, trimmers, and leaf blowers, lawn mowers, specialty turf products, and protective equipment.

This year, Husqvarna partnered with PLANET on several initiatives. As the 2008 Executive Forum Strategic Partner, Husqvarna was instrumental in developing the theme, The Power to Perform for the Successful Executive, and educational content for that event. In fact, Husqvarna President Dave Zerfoss delivered the keynote address and shared his dedication to coaching and training, developing a corporate culture that is led by example and understood by all employees, and getting the right people in the right places for optimal performance and job satisfaction.

In addition, Husqvarna supported PLANET in 2008 at Student Career Days as a Silver Sponsor and as the T-Shirt Design Competition Sponsor; at Legislative Day on the Hill and Renewal & Remembrance as a Platinum Sponsor; at the Green Industry Conference as the Awards Banquet Reception Sponsor and as the Conference Tote Bag Sponsor; and as the STARS safety program sponsor. PLANET greatly appreciates Husqvarna’s generous support.

Finally, Husqvarna received the prestigious Partner in Success Award because the company’s employees are actively engaged in the association’s activities and committees. Not only was John Marchionda present at each of PLANET’s events throughout the year, he has also taken a leadership position and supported PLANET through “sweat equity,” as John likes to call it. He is currently serving as the chair of the Supplier Subcommittee, a member of the Landscape Management Specialty Group, and a member of the PLANET AEF Board of Directors.
