PLANET ANNOUNCES ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE PARTNER OF THE YEAR AWARD

HERNDON, Va., November 3, 2008 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) honored Kristen Fefes, CAE, executive director of the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado (ALCC), with its 2008 Association Executive Partner of the Year Award.

The award was presented by PLANET President Jason Cupp, CLP, at the recent Green Industry Conference Awards Banquet in Louisville, Kentucky. “Kristen Fefes is known as a professional who works hard for our industry and works tirelessly with other state stakeholders,” says Cupp. “Because of her professionalism and dedication to PLANET and the industry, she is very deserving of this honor.”

Fefes, a member of TEAM PLANET, serving on PLANET’s International Certification Council and administrator of the PLANET Certified Landscape Technician-Exterior (CLT-E) exam in Colorado, worked exceptionally hard to ensure that changes made to the CLT-E exam were implemented properly. She is in constant contact with other state stakeholders, keeping them informed on the progress of the exam and seeking input when needed. On the political front, she and her association play an active role in Legislative Day on the Hill and in the political arena in Colorado. She has served as executive director of ALCC since November 2000, and earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2006, an honor that is held by less than 1 percent of association executives in the country.

In accepting the award, Fefes states, “I was incredibly touched and honored to be nominated by my peers and certification colleagues and to be chosen by PLANET as the recipient of this award.”
