PHIL FOGARTY RECEIVES PLANET’S LIFETIME LEADERSHIP AWARD

HERNDON, Va., November 3, 2008 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) is pleased to announce that it presented Phil Fogarty of Weed Man/Lake County, Euclid, Ohio, with its 2008 Lifetime Leadership Award at the recent PLANET Green Industry Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.

PLANET’s Lifetime Leadership Award is presented annually to a member of the association who has demonstrated leadership, service, and commitment to both PLANET and the green industry. It honors individuals who have improved the green industry and inspired others throughout their careers with their pioneering spirit and demonstrated inventiveness. In presenting the award, PLANET President Jason Cupp, CLP, of Highland Outdoor, praised Fogarty for his contributions to the association and the green industry. “Phil Fogarty has made a significant impact on our industry. He has served as a friend and leader to the association and industry for more than 25 years. I am honored to recognize this man who gives his heart and soul to all of his friendships, relationships, and commitments. Our association and our industry are better because of him.”

Fogarty is the catalyst for one of PLANET’s signature events, Renewal & Remembrance. His active role in the creation and execution of the event has resulted in continuous growth under his leadership. He has served in several leadership positions within PLANET, Project EverGreen, and the Ohio Lawn Care Association, to name a few.

“All during my career I have been helped, mentored, supported, and inspired by the folks in this great association,” says Fogarty. “I think I should be giving them an award for years of education, trust, and friendship. So, I accept this honor on behalf of the staff and all the volunteers who have made events like Renewal & Remembrance so meaningful to me. I have been lucky to be associated with them and to get an award for that is simply too much good fortunate for any one person.”
