PLANET LEADERSHIP PLEDGES $25,000 TO PLANET AEF

HERNDON, Va., November 3, 2008 — The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) is pleased to announce that the PLANET 2008/2009 Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer (COO) have donated $25,000 to the PLANET Academic Excellence Foundation (PLANET AEF) scholarship fund. This contribution distinguishes the group as a PLANET AEF Ambassador. Members of the group are:

The PLANET AEF scholarship fund was formed to award scholarships and fund educational activities for the green industry. PLANET AEF’s mission is to promote and advance the lawn and landscape services industry by supporting educational excellence. PLANET AEF Ambassadors are entitled to name and establish the criteria for their scholarships.

Since its inception in 1997, PLANT AEF has awarded scholarships worth $355,000, thanks to the generosity of those who have contributed to the scholarship fund. Currently, there are 48 Ambassadors, a number that includes two Platinum Ambassadors (at the $50,000 contribution level) and 46 individual and company Ambassadors.

“PLANET AEF contributions not only support the educational advancement of green industry students, but they also strengthen the industry as a whole,” says Cupp. “The PLANET AEF Board of Directors and its COO are proud to be part of this investment in the future of the industry.”
