2012 PLANET AEF Scholarship Recipients
PLANET AEF SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED AT 36TH ANNUAL STUDENT CAREER DAYS
HERNDON, Va., March 29, 2012 — The Professional Landcare Network Academic Excellence Foundation (PLANET AEF) presented $70,400 in scholarships and awards to students at the PLANET 36th annual Student Career Days event held March 22-25, 2012, at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.
Committed to the advancement of professionals in the green industry, PLANET AEF was created to help green industry students, the potential future leaders of the industry, fund their education. These leaders of tomorrow will define the standards of professionalism and use their education to meet the challenges of the future.
Fifty-nine scholarships were presented at a special reception, sponsored by STIHL Inc., and held at the start of the event on March 22, 2012.

The PLANET AEF also awarded the top three winning students, known as Superstars, a total of $3,000 at the Closing Ceremonies on March 25, 2012.

3rd Place — $500 Jeremiah Wheeler, Shasta College
Chris Foley, associate professor and facilitator of the Landscape and Turf Management Program at Owens Community College, was also awarded $1,000 as the 2012 PLANET AEF Outstanding Educator of the Year.
