Alert: PLANET sources are reporting ramped up enforcement of safety standards by both federal OSHA (through its general duty clause) and Cal/OSHA. Higher fines and increased fines for minor infractions are also reported. The period for a repeat offense has changed from three years to five years, and repeat offenses are up to 10 times higher than normal fines.

The Society of Chemical Hazard Communication (SCHC) will host a free webinar from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST, Aug. 13, to present information on implementing OSHA’s revised Hazard Communication Standard in the United States.
