Kurt Kluznik’s night in the spotlight
Kurt Kluznik, CCLP, president of Yardmaster, Inc., received PLANET’s annual Lifetime Leadership Award for his demonstrated leadership, service, and commitment, as well as his many contributions to both PLANET and the green industry. He was presented with the award during the Executive Forum Recognition Banquet. Congratulations, Kurt!
Philip Morris USA receives Landscape Contribution Award
Philip Morris USA was honored recently with the 2005 Landscape Contribution Award for its commitment to interior and exterior landscaping. PLANET presents this award to major corporations, developers, and municipalities that are committed to quality landscape development and help to consistently create landscape awareness.
James Martin Associates, Inc., contributes $25,000 to AEF
The ALCA Educational Foundation (AEF) recently received a donation of $25,000 from James Martin Associates, Inc., and The James Martin Family, which distinguishes them as an AEF Ambassador. Contributions at the Ambassador level entitle donors to name and establish the criteria for their scholarship.

New tool for training workers to prevent amputations
PLANET has produced a fourth bilingual (English/Spanish) Safety Tips Sheet that is available to the entire industry to use to train workers. The new one-page Safety Tips Sheet, Reducing the Risk of an Amputation, is aimed at preventing amputations that result from a hand or foot getting caught in the rapidly moving blades of a mower, being pulled into a wood chipper, or other actions.
