IRS provides updated withholding guidance for 2013
On Jan. 3, the Internal Revenue Service released updated income-tax withholding tables for 2013, reflecting the most recent changes by Congress. The updated tables, issued after President Obama signed the changes into law, show the new rates in effect for 2013 and supersede the tables issued on Dec. 31, 2012. The newly revised version of Notice 1036 contains the percentage method income-tax withholding tables and related information that employers need to implement these changes. More
Michael Geary, CAE, assumes leadership of ANLA
On Jan. 1, 2013, Michael Geary, CAE, became the new executive vice president of ANLA, replacing Bob Dolibois who retired on Dec. 31, after 21 years of service to the organization. Geary brings 21 years of experience in association management, including the past two as the CEO of OFA, and he will lead both organizations. More

Ruppert Partners With Students to Provide Toys for Young Hurricane Sandy Victims
Brandon Simmons, an area manager in Ruppert’s Baltimore Landscape Management Branch, and his many helpers—including two young students who also collected toys at their school—organized a toy drive to benefit the youngest victims of Hurricane Sandy. More than 2,000 toys were donated and were delivered to Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey in time for the holiday.
Ruppert Landscape partnered with five-year old Sadira (Sadie) Mirjafary and six-year old Tyler Hiebler to collect toys for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. This effort culminated with a “Stuff-A-Truck” toy drive at the Target in White Marsh on Saturday, Dec. 8. More
