How Noisy Is Land Care Equipment?
This Interactive eTool demonstrates the noise levels of typical land care tools and equipment. To use this eTool, click equipment and watch the noise level. To change equipment, click the small picture of the equipment and choose a new item. To switch languages (English/Spanish), click button at lower left. This eTool is designed to increase awareness of excess noise by showing that noise levels of most land care equipment are above 85 dB. Noise levels above 85 dB for 8 hours per day require noise controls and/or hearing protection. This Interactive eTraining Tool is like the TV game, except the categories all involve noise and hearing protection. The eTool is designed to let trainees demonstrate what they learned in PLANET’s How Do We Protect Our Ears? training. It allows up to 4 teams to play the game led by a trainer or supervisor. The game keeps score. Instructions appear on the first screen. Basically, click a dollar amount to see a question and click the number of the team answering the question. Then show the answer click plus/minus for correct/incorrect responses. To switch languages (English/Spanish), click button at lower left.
